groupsWhat the board actually does

San Diego Elites is a high-trust business networking community. The board is the small group of members who set direction, host events, and shape the experience for everyone else. Think “working board” — we show up, do the work, and protect the culture.

You’ll meet monthly, own one functional area, and make yourself visible at events so members know exactly who to go to. Founder Dennis Langlais runs point on strategy; the board runs point on execution and culture.

President
Runs board meetings, final call on culture and community standards, represents SDE externally.
Vice President
Second in command. Fills in for the President; owns internal communication between members and board.
Events Chair
Owns the event calendar, venues, and member experience at each event. Works with sponsors and hosts.
Membership Chair
Owns new-member onboarding, Distinguished Membership pipeline, and retention. Keeps the directory alive.
Marketing Chair
Owns storytelling, socials, shoutouts, and email campaigns. Makes the community visible to the city.

  • Attend 80%+ of monthly events
  • 1-year minimum term, renewable
  • Bring 2 guests per quarter to events
  • Show up for the monthly board meeting (60–90 min)
  • Own your functional area; don’t just attend meetings
  • Represent SDE with integrity; uphold community standards
