Larger floor. Same standard. for san diego business expo

A business expo and a business showcase are different formats. A showcase optimizes for depth — small floor, pre-matched conversations, structured matchmaking layer. An expo optimizes for breadth — larger exhibitor count, broader Our san diego business expo services ensure content programming, more diverse audience, and the kind of serendipitous encounters that come from larger-room scale. Both have legitimate use cases; the right answer depends on what an exhibitor or attendee needs from the format.

San Diego Elites runs one annual flagship business expo: the Elite Business Expo, held the second Friday of October at one of the city's larger venues (rotating between the Manchester Grand Hyatt's exhibition hall and the San Diego Convention Center). The 2026 expo runs Friday, October 9, 2026. Exhibitor count is capped at 110; expected attendance runs 800-1,100 across the day. The format is full-day (8 AM to 5 PM with reception running until 7 PM), with three panel-content sessions throughout, structured networking lounges, and a digital matchmaking platform that supplements the floor. The expo's curation standard scales with the format. Exhibitor categories are balanced; attendee registration is verified for professional standing; floor routing is engineered to drive traffic past every exhibitor booth; panel content is selected for current relevance. The result is an expo that works — exhibitors report meaningful lead generation, attendees report finding services and partners they couldn't have efficiently sourced elsewhere, and the day's networking density is among the highest in the city's annual calendar.

Why San Diego Elites

What we do differently.

— I.

Reviewed Membership

Every application is reviewed. We approve professionals who add to the room, not anyone who paid the fee. The standard holds because we hold it.

— II.

Curated Introductions

Our team makes warm intros at every event and weekly between events. Networking is delivered, not just enabled. The intros are targeted; we don't blast lists.

— III.

Premium Venues, Real Conversation

Manchester Grand Hyatt, Pendry, Hotel del Coronado, La Valencia, the Lodge. The venue does work; the format does the rest.

Deep dive

How the expo is structured

The exhibitor floor. 110 exhibitor positions arranged in five categorized sections: Professional Services, Real Estate, Finance & Capital, Healthcare, and Technology. Standard 8-foot tables, premium 10-foot positions, and corner premium positions are available at three price points. Power and Wi-Fi included; lead capture device included; signage and table-throw included. Floor opens 8 AM and runs through 4 PM with a one-hour lunch break (lunch served on the floor to maintain traffic).

Panel content. Three panels run during the day on the main stage: a 9 AM 'state of San Diego business' panel with notable local CEOs and economic-development leaders, an 11:30 AM industry deep-dive (rotating focus by year), and a 2:30 PM 'capital and growth' panel on M&A activity, fundraising environment, and exit dynamics. Each panel is 50 minutes including audience Q&A. Attendees flow between panels and the floor.

Networking lounges. Two structured lounges throughout the day. The Members Lounge is reserved for San Diego Elites members and members-only refreshments; it functions as the quieter business space where members do focused work between floor sessions. The Industry Lounges (Real Estate, Finance, Legal, Healthcare, Tech) bring industry-specific professionals together for focused 60-minute conversations.

Matchmaking platform. A digital app enables attendees to identify exhibitors of interest pre-event and book pre-scheduled 15-minute meetings on the floor. Roughly 35% of attendees use the matchmaking platform; those attendees consistently report higher post-event meeting conversion than walk-around-only attendees. Exhibitors who actively use the platform report 2-3x higher lead generation than exhibitors relying on table walk-up traffic.

Press and media presence. The Elite Business Expo draws San Diego business media — typically the Business Journal, Times of San Diego, and several podcast crews. Exhibitors with newsworthy products or stories get media access through our partnerships. We coordinate media interviews on the floor for exhibitors who want them.

Post-event package. Every exhibitor receives the verified attendee list (those who opted in to share contact information, typically 80-85% of attendees), the matchmaking platform conversation log, professional photography of their booth, access to the 45-day follow-up automation, and a 12-month digital catalog listing on our directory site.

Frequently asked

Common questions

How big is the Elite Business Expo? add
110 exhibitor tables, 800-1,100 attendees across the day. Larger than our showcase format (30 exhibitors, 180 attendees) but more curated than the major Convention Center trade shows. The size is calibrated for serendipitous encounters without overwhelming the matchmaking layer.
When is the 2026 expo? add
Friday, October 9, 2026 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Full-day program 8 AM to 5 PM, plus reception 5-7 PM. Tickets typically open 90 days in advance and sell out at 30 days.
How do I become an exhibitor? add
Exhibitor applications open 120 days before the expo through our partnerships portal. Member-tier exhibitor positions are released first; remaining positions open to non-members. We curate by category to ensure no direct competition between exhibitors.
What's included in the exhibitor package? add
Standard 8-foot or premium 10-foot table, professional signage, power and Wi-Fi, lead capture platform, attendee list (those who opted in), professional photography of your booth, matchmaking platform access, 45-day follow-up automation, and a year-long digital catalog listing.
Are attendee tickets free? add
General admission is $35 in advance, $50 at the door. Includes floor access, lunch, and panel content. San Diego Elites members attend free as part of membership. The door fee is intentional — filters attendees actually planning to engage.
Can I sponsor the expo? add
Yes — selectively. Sponsorship packages range from full venue underwrite ($45K) to lounge sponsorship ($12K) to lanyard or registration sponsor ($4K). Sponsors get prominent branding throughout the venue plus exhibitor positioning. Sponsor selection is curated; we accept three to four sponsors per expo.
Do panel sessions offer CE credits? add
Some — typically the legal, finance, and healthcare panels qualify for industry-specific CE credits. Credit-eligible panels are flagged on the panel agenda. We coordinate with established CE providers for accreditation.
Is there parking? add
Validated or complimentary at the venue. The Manchester Grand Hyatt validates expo-day parking; the Convention Center offers event-rate parking. Listed on the registration page. Many attendees opt for rideshare due to event-day volume; both venues are well-served.
